What’s the difference between “Collectables” and “Collectibles”?

Collectables and collectibles are terms that are often used interchangeably, but they refer to two different types of items. Collectables generally refer to items that have some sort of investment value, whereas collectibles refer to items that have sentimental or cultural value. Collectables can be anything from coins, stamps, and antiques to artwork and luxury cars. On the other hand, collectibles are usually related to hobbies or interests such as action figures, comic books, trading cards, and other memorabilia. Both types of items can be worth money, but for collectors the difference lies in why they keep them—investment versus sentimentality.
