Japanese Geisha Doll

Description

This Japanese Kabuki Geisha doll has a porcelain face and arms with a cloth body. It is about 30 years old.  The cloth body is traditional kimono fabric with embroidered details. The porcelain head is hand-painted with the traditional geisha makeup. The red mouth is slightly open, revealing teeth that have been painted white. The hair is black and pulled back into a bun, with two long, black lacquered chopsticks tucked into it. The doll’s eyebrows are arched and painted black, and her eyes are lined with black kohl. She wears a red and white obi sash around her waist, and her feet slip into wooden geta sandals. This doll is beautiful and would make a lovely addition to any collection.
